The FISHERMAN Seafood Trail, the company trademark, gives a unique experience of slow travel. In Suðureyri, nobody is in a hurry – except when it comes to fresh fish! Walking through this tiny village visitors get a glimpse of the life of the people that have built this self sustained community. While strolling the streets, there is also a few surprises on the way that get your tastebuds going. Here, at the edge of the arctic, the fish doesn ́t get any fresher. If you want to want to get the taste of the Icelandic small town lifestyle, the Seafood Trail gets you there.
This is your chance to hear about life in a small fishing village at the edge of the Arctic Circle.
In this tour, with a local English speaking guide, you will walk and wander slowly and learn about the live and history of a small fishing village in the Westfjords. You will get to taste some delicious seafood samples and visit the local fish manufacturing plant where you will learn why and how Iceland’s first class export product can be on your domestic dinner plate just 36 hours after leaving the ice-cold Atlantic ocean water.
